I was out for a walk yesterday evening in Rostrevor. I parked the car at the Fairy Glen, and followed the road that runs along Kilbroney Park, then back along the shores of Carlingford Lough, before looping up through the village, and back to the car. It’s only a short walk, but necessary in these long, dark evenings to avoid cabin fever! The route is well lit by street lights, and it’s always nice to feel that fresh sea air. After the wildness of storm Desmond, the lough was calm, with only seaweed strewn on the footpath as a reminder of the sea’s fierceness.
When heading back home, and past the newly opened Rostrevor Inn, I started to count the number of pubs in Rostrevor … 8 in total, I believe. Not too bad for a small village! Quite a few of them have live music in them, and several have traditional music sessions during the week. My title was only in jest; however, I will be doing some blog posts on some options over the coming weeks. In the meantime, below is my list of the drinking establishments, which one is your favourite? Click on Fearon’s to have a google view inside the pub.
